Room with awesome lake view
We get a free upgrade to a lake view room with a 2 queen beds room! The resort is just 5 mins walk from the CBD and just across the road from Lake Wakatipu.

Clean, Friendly and Very efficient
My first visit to the Rydges was filled with excellent customer service, but the roomed was rudimentary and quite noisy. On my second, this visit, I was upgraded to a Lake facing room that was plush and lovely. The staff in both cases was extremely professional and very helpful. I look forward to returning to this hotel and visiting other Rydges soon. A very satisfied customer. Cheers, Eva

Great Location
Great location as its very near to all the shops/restaurants and its located in the heart of the city. Not really a child friendly place as its a busy hotel. Front office staff were very helpful in helping us to find Queenstown tours.

The hotel was lovely. Nice decor. Lobby...
The hotel was lovely. Nice decor. Lobby was kind of boring. Good internet facilities: $2 for 20 mins. Our room was a little small but very comfy. Beds were heaven! Shower was tiny, but at least it was clean. Heating was a little too good! Had to turn it off at bed time. It was a fairly easy walk into town, only 5 mins. Parking was sometimes difficult, but we always eventually found one. The restaurant was really nice, but the full buffet breakfast was a bit over-priced at $18. Had it been closer to $12 we would have eaten there every day. (We are vegetarians, so maybe the veg breakfast option would be a good one for them to introduce!?) I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone. The lobby staff were wonderful. The spa was disappointing though - it felt quite cold, and it was outdoors! Oh and laundry facilities were amazing. So helpful to be able to easily do our washing.

My husband and I stayed from 13th-...
My husband and I stayed from 13th- 16th April,3 nights for our 30th wedding anniversary. We had a room over looking the lake, it was perfect. The room was clean and beds comfortable. The balcony was not very big but the view of Lake Waikatipu and the golden autumn colours was magnificient. Very central and easy walking distance to the town centre and pier for criuses on the lake. We did not use the swimming pool so cannot comment. The dinning room has spectacular view over the lake for those who missed out on a room without a view.We did not dine in their restaurant, the breakfast was disappointing, the hot buffet was cold. All the staff were very helful and pleasant. We will stay there again.

The location of this hotel is perfect....
The location of this hotel is perfect. Very convenient to walk to the town and to get a breathtaking view of the lake and the atmosphere Queenstown has to offer. I was really impressed with the location and the scenic views this hotel has. There are, however, two things that I don't like. First, the front staff were way too rude. They are so arrogant and looked a bit racists once they had to deal with my broken English. When I was checking-in, one of the staff was gossiping and talking bad about a customer who just checked in before me. The other thing is the bath tub, it was so old and dirty. I found a lot of hair in the sink and bath tub. I was staying in Deluxe Lakeview room on 10th floor. I think the hotel should consider for refurbishing of the bathrooms and the hallway.
