Directions

From the north by car: Rotorua is 234 kilometres from Auckland, the journey takes about three and half hours by car using State Highways 1 and 5.

From Auckland city, take the motorway South and follow the signs to Hamilton.

Once in Hamilton take State Highway 1 to Tirau and turn off on State Highway 5 signposted to Rotorua.

From the south by car: Rotorua is 457 kilometres from Wellington, via the Desert Road on State Highway 1.

Coming from Taupo in the south, Rotorua is just over an hour by car on State Highway 5.
