Excellent location and rooms
Love the location of this place - within walking distance to a few eating places, the supermarket, the pharmacy, mini golf, the breath taking Lake Te Anau and a large outdoor children's playground.
The room was spacious, comfortable and clean but had an odd aroma - perhaps a change in potpourri would be good.
Would be even more perfect if there was free wifi in this extremely connected world.

Overall Review
I found the layout of the property very confusing, even on the morning of the last day. For a 4.5 star hotel, I was disappointed with this property (i.e Hotel part). Upon reflection, possibly would have paid a little more to stay at Distinction Hotel & Villas in Te Anau. Location wise, the property was very good - close to the main street. I am surprised the Hotel does not offer an 'Autumn Special' (eg upgrade the room, include continental breakfast for two) at this time of the year like the Grand Mercure (at Wanaka) does.

My only disappointment is that the hotel...
My only disappointment is that the hotel rate was quoted in AUS$ rather than NZ$. There was a dispute with the hotel. Your quoted rate was AUS$81.18 but the hotel rate was NZ$110 which is equivalent to AUS$91.66 using conversion of 1.2 aus$/Nz$ which is the average rate durin my 1 week stay in NZ. To avoid dispute your quote should be based on the NZ$. At NZ$110, the hotel is over prized. The hotel management promised to contact you on your website I will not recommend to others.
