We found the locality great because it...
We found the locality great because it was on the public transport route and it meant that until we moved on further up north we did not have to hire a car. The availability of shops also was very good. I would have been great if a small kitchenette, i.e. microwave or small hotplate then you would be able to also do some in room meals. Most of the other hotels/motels that we stayed in, in North Island had breakfast/lunch/tea facilities they still had cooking facilities. This means that you don't mind spending a little more on accommodation, because you often save on main meals. All in all a great time was had and it couldn't have started in a better way than at the Brentwood. The staff were very accomodating and moved us as we were oringinally put upstairs but as I have a brace on my leg and when they were informed that the stairs were a bit dangerous for me they moved us immediately and were very apologetic.
