Very noisy disco if you are on the lower levels. Staff were not very welcoming or helpful. Single female travellers note there are probably better places to stay - lots of men staying in the hotel, all male staff, and men coming and going to the disco. With no chain on the door I didn't feel very comfortable at all. No safe in room. Room didn't get made up the entire time I was staying there - had to request toilet paper, fresh towels etc. Good location 15 mins walk from the Corniche and Mutrah souq, but there are nicer hotels priced at the same level on the Corniche - I'll try my luck there next time.

Mutrah Hotel, simple but convenient
The stay at Mutrah Hotel was nice: the staff is friendly, even if sometimes a bit lazy, the room was big, even if it was poorly furnished, with satellite TV and minibar. The hotel is well situated, 15mn walk from Mutrah suq, and, above it, Mutrah "corniche", the best spot in Muscat to feel authentic Muscat. The breakfast included in the room price is pretty poor (very few fruits, no tomatoes, bad orange juice) but it's ok for the price (28 OR for a double room).

Good value for money but noisy
Spacious room, good location, friendly staff. Clean. Noisy disco on the ground floor which palys till 3 am...

Overall the Mutrah Hotel was a good...
Overall the Mutrah Hotel was a good experience for me. Location was not fantastic as I would have preferred to be closer to the Corniche (closer to shops, views, food) but not a bad location as quite central (probably better if I had a car). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and spacious. I booked a single room but was given a double room. Internet quite expensive but cable TV with many channels. Room service menu extensive, inexpensive and efficient.
