Summary
Monasterio Hotel Cuzco (cusco) was built in 1592. The Monasterio hotel Cuzco (cusco) is without doubt the best hotel in Cusco and arguably in the whole of Peru itself. It has three open courtyards all of which have very well kept gardens and stone arches surrounding the gardens in typical monastery style.
The lobby is small and traditional in style. Adjacent to the lobby is a large lounge area with an open fireplace with traditional furnishings, antique rugs, Peruvian sculptures and oil paintings. For those suffering from altitude sickness there is also a place to take oxygen. In keeping with the name and reputation of the hotel it is of the highest standard throughout. The hotel is, as its name suggests, a converted monastery dating back to 1595.
