My friends and I arrived early to Boracay and therefore had several nights to find lodging before our reservation at Red Coconut. We had no difficulty doing this, and were surprised at some of the very reasonable rates. We began to assume that the Red Coconut must be an amazing resort for the price we were paying. We arrived to our triple room at Red Coconut to find that is was of equal quality, if not lower, than the room we had just come from for one third of the price, and in the same general location. The staff at Red Coconut was kind and as accomodating as they could possibly be. Thank goodness for them, otherwise I think the three of us would have been on a rampage. We all felt very ripped off. Our standard room was hidden in the very back of the resort - very separated from the rest of Red Coconut. We had to literally walk down a dark alley to get to and from out location. Again, the staff is was very kind and offered an escort - but for the money that we paid to stay at this resort - we were all apalled at it's basic ammenities, ant-filled room, leaky and practically removeable bathroom faucet, faulty air-con, and hidden away, off the beach location. Long story short - I HIGHLY recommend doing some shopping around on WHite Beach. There is absolutely no shortage of places to stay. Red Coconut has an exterior that looks nice - but we were not impressed at the interior - and we are not people who hang out in our room except to shower and sleep. The location is consider to be good because of its proximity to D'Mall and other resorts and restaurants, but it is also located in the loudest part of White Beach - and yes, you can hear the beat from the Bom, Bom Bar. Again - shop around!
