Unfriendly receptionist
hi, i stayed there for 1night with my lady , and whilst i initially found the staff to be friendly ,i later had an incident that i was very annoyed over
.At about 2am my lady woke up feeling very sick , but felt that with either a cup of tea or coffee, would be very helpful and get her through until the restaurant opened at 6am for breakfast.So she rang reception to ask for same and was told ' sorry the restaurant closes at 10 pm ' she explained she was feeling ill , and remained awake all night, the receptionist asked did her room not include a teasmade facility ?( surely if she knew her job she would know the answer to that ?? ), is it not possible that she could show some sympathy ?a little opportunity for a good P.R. .could she not make a coffee or tea herself and pass it on and even bill us for it ?
So if your sick when staying in this Hotel -- don't bother the receptionist !! , and don't get sick.
We saw this hotel on a web site ( searching for a possible wedding venue next year ) and picked it to stay in for 1 night ,needless to say its now off our possible list of suitable hotels

Marigold hotel is situated in the city. The location is very convenient for any traveler. The room is clean an well maintained.
friendly atmosphere
been to cagayan de oro for the first time with a sorority sister and stayed at the hotel for four nights but too bad that the elevator broke down while we were there and we're on the 4th floor.
but those issues never change our impressions to the hotel because of the very accommodating and friendly hotel staff. they're up and available 24 hours to assist us.
definitely, i'll be coming back to CDO and will book again to this hotel for the reason that it has a very good value for money, the hotel is also very accessible.
Need to sleep?
Paid reasonable rate, close to port, somewhat close to malls. Had windowless room, very dark, good for sleeping if you don't mind the noise of adjacent rooms and front desk.
excellent value and service
The ads on this hotel is misleading because it is not a 3star ... although the rooms are kept clean, the hotel is clearly outdated, ie the bed, carpet, sheets, towels feel old and run down, hence the discounted amount was just right.
We were impressed by the "service with a smile" ...
One comment though, if the hotel counts the number of towels, etc upon check-out, they should inform the guests when they check-in to verify the number of items in the room in order to avoid misunderstanding... imagine the front desk ran after us for "missing towels" when there was only one set in the room when we checked in... for us, visiting Fil-ams, it felt like being accused of stealing old towels similar to dishrags back home! funny but true!
Yes, we will stay in this hotel again, especially if the facilities are upgraded to be truly a 3star, and the discounted price will be reasonable. For now, we recommend this to families on a budget, visiting the city . It is also convenient and functional to businessmen and tourists.
the room is very little yet impressive with good ambiance as well,we just dont like the foods that has been served to us..very salty,we ordered pork adobo ,.the rice not taste so good,it's pretty obvious that they use a low class type of rice,although the hotel really looks great..only the taste of foods,and the rice being served...
This hotel is located at the 4 & 5 th floor of a building next to a bank ! Reception and front desk are located at the 4th floor of the building. When I came in, my first reaction was to deciede to change place ! But when I realize how desastrous the other hotels in Cagayan de Oro were really, I decieded to stay where I booked. Marigold is placed in a very busy and noisy street. My room had nearly NO windows. It is a very simple hotel, but very clean. Goog value for money because Marigold is not an expensive place. But it is not a place to stay longer than 2 nights too ... !
