Look at the website, 1/4 your expectation and you might just survive five days in Maribago Bluewater. The last time it won an award was in 1993 and for a reason, that is the last time it was good. Before I trawled the net for reviews. I can only assume the resort posted some of their OWN rave reviews.
Whatever you imagine, Bluewater is not it. It is by no stretch of the imagination premium or, even quality class. For starters, landscaping cry for attention and grass gasp to be watered. There is no ambience and certainly no, organised activities. Except for guests trying to entertain themselves and the towel man chatting with the occasional passing housekeeping staff, it was dead. What on earth are you going to do for five days?
Wait for the lagoon to fill-up and take a picture. Thereafter ( and for most evenings) water is sucked out and you are left with a bed of weeds and urchins (and flocks of bugging beach peddlers). Or perhaps, jump into the cloudy salt-filtered pools. If you plan to chill out in your room, have an alternative plan unless, thereis a programme on Satellite TV that you just can't miss! If you want to do some Island Hopping, Boyla charter is just next door. Boatmen are licensed and boats are well-maintained (That establishment is not part of the hotel, I should have guessed).
Menu is limited. The evening salad buffet is almost apolotegicfor its sorry selection (or the lack of it). Plus is, they have strollers playing from 6-9. For most, that would be the day's highlight. Have a tip at hand. Only go to the seafood restaurant if you don't mind shellfish that is charged by weight.
