This trip is not only leisure but also to reminisce the good old past. I have been visiting Davao
since the seventies and my last one was April of 1986! More often than not, I would be staying
at the Davao Insular Hotel....the previous name of the now Waterfront Insular Hotel,Davao. I love evrything that is Waterfront.... their hospitality, very friendly and courteous
staff, their well appointed rooms, fantastic landscaping, producing cool and fresh ambiance. So after more than twenty years of absence, nothing has changed, except probably the name. And I have no regrets!
Hotel was a nice change from Manila hotels. A balcony view of surroundings was excellent as I like fresh air. Service was great. Prices of resturant meals was expensive, but the choices were greatly viewed. Unfortunately the lack of ammenities was obvious and the pool was very deep..5ft to 10ft and it left my wife afraid as she is unable to enjoy herself. A nice clean hotel in a very tranquil setting. I won't be staying there again as other hotels offered more outdoor activities.
I was very impressed with the courtesy of all the staff, they were all very polite and pleasant to be around. I would highly recommend this hotel for its location, and exquisite grounds; absolutly beautiful.
I also found the safe deposit boxes helpful, and the ability to exchage currency at the hotel very convienent. The security at the hotel was top of the line, and the atmosphere just heavenly. The breakfast buffet was absolutly the best. The only thing I think that could be improved on, would be to perfume the rooms for a better smell.....because of the humidity...there was a musty smell.
I had a very pleasant stay at the Waterfront Insular mainly dur to the ecceptionally friendly and accomodating staff. The service was second to none and smiles were abundant. The rooms are due for a refurb but are well equipped and kept clean by effecient housekeepers.
I treated myself to a Deluxe room with a view overlooking the pool and extensive grounds. Very happy with my stay at this hotel.
This hotel definitely needs A LOT of work. The bathroom is so dirty. The Comforters is smelly. Like they never cleaned it. You can see black stains on the tiles. Especially the refrigerator. Its disgusting and smells. I'll NEVER stay in this hotel ever again. They need to renovate the rooms.
We both thought the water front hotel was clean and tidy very helpfull staff and the grounds wear well maintained over all will be going back again would recommend a viset.
Great place to stay, although could do with slight attention to bathroom, rest of the stay was a memorable experience, staff were all 1st class, i on a return to davao would have no hesitation in booking in here, in fact on my next visit i shall be booking in here, Paul J Henry, Cleethorpes England.
I always stay at the Waterfront Insular hotel whenever I'm in Davao city because of its location. The hotel is in need of major renovation and upgrades but the staff continues to be very friendly and service is excellent as always. I love the surroundings and the peacefullness of the area - much better than staying in downtown hotels.
