I stayed at the Imperial Palace Suites...
I stayed at the Imperial Palace Suites during my last visit to Manila, the Philippines on May 22 to 26, 2005. I chose this hotel because of its very strategic location. There are many good restaurants nearby. My plane arrived in Manila early and after a very long trip, I wanted to check in at the Hotel the soonest. When I arrived at the hotel, I found out that the room was ready but then the check-in time was at 3PM. The receptionist was quite slow in attending to me when I arrived. She informed methat I could get the room provided I pay 50% of the room rate, which was at least 1,800 Philippine Pesos, which was way above 50% of the rate I paid for the room. I guess it would have been a very good priviledge for the hotel to build goof clientele if they just offered the room for free since it was available anyway. It would have been a good PR for the hotel as many hotels would do for people checking in early. The rooms need some refurbishing especially the bathrooms. The shower rag needs to be changed everyday. It was never changed on the three-day duration I was in the hotel. The towels needed to be bleached and a softener has to be applied at the laundry since the towels weree so stiff. If there is anything that made my stay nice was the good buffet breakfast at the Penthouse. The waiters were very attentive. There was a very good selection of food. It was very warm up there though. They could put some extra electric fans.
