I have stayed at the Manila Traders periodically since 2003. Although Traders has upgraded the quality of the furnishings as well as the overall presentation of the hotel, at the same time they have nearly doubled the price. The main reason I continue to use Traders is that they provide free WIFI, whereas other similiar quality (but cheaper) hotels charge as much as $25 US per day for Internet use.
I called twice room service for the porpose of Internet connecting issue,
but they did not come.
I was really disappointed. They come at third time calling.

lobby isn't so big but not bad.hospitality of stuff in lobby lounge and reception is good,,,the pool is very bad ,,,spa was renovated in our stay time

The hotel is managed by Shangri-la group which has pretty good reputation in Manila and the rest of Asia. We are not disappointed - our expectations are met - a good value for money service, spacious room, clean surroundings, well maintained fixtures, and customer-orientated staff. My only issue is the amount of people waiting at the cramped lobby - just standing there and staring at guests. a bit weird feeling. I hope the hotel will manage this.
Traders is one of my favorite hotels in Manila! It is older, and the rooms are not modern, but it is a good value for the money. I like being down by Manila Bay, fresher air and less traffic.
I spent some extra money to upgrade to a corner suite which gave me access to the Traders Lounge. This is the only way to go. Tea Time at 2PM. Cocktails at 5PM and breakfast in the morning. A large two room suite with an excellent view of the Bay, all for $44/night additional.
This hotel was much better than the last one Ive stayed. Room is much bigger n cleaner. Overall, its good except for the view out is not what Ive expected but that is not a big issue. Staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely a recommendated hotel to stay!
Had an easy check in.Smiling staff upgraded me to a suite which was a perfect start.Room was very spacious with all mod cons and all in good working order.
Had a pleasant meal in the restaurant and later enjoyed a drink in the lobby lounge, prices were fairly typical for this standard of hotel.
Checkout was very smoothly and swiftly dealt with and an airport transfer easily arranged.
All in all a good experience and I would stay here again
