The hotel was excellent and so was the service. The best thing about it was the selection and quality of food for the breakfast buffet. The food from the menu was also great if a little bit pricey. Our room aslo boasted a spectacular view of the sea and city. If you are picky about certain things then I would not recommend this hotel for example there was no salt at our breakfast table for 4 consecutive mornings and when we asked for salt, instead of refilling the pot they just exchanged the dispensers from another table!! Another thing is it all depends what race and colour you are for the service rating being a filipina I feel that I did not receieve the same service as those who are not filipino which was very dissapointing considering the name. It was not as close to the centre of Mannila as other 5 stars so we had to taxi it there most days. It is right next to Bay Walk which provides some good entertainment. The overall value for this hotel is very good.

Hello Phillipine Plaza in Manilla. We initially were going to stay at the Intercontinental Hotel in Makati, but after visiting it (and it is a beautiful hotel), we were so glad we chose your hotel. Why? The bay view, and the pool design along with the entertainment was awesome. You have a really beautiful hotel, super close to the airport, nice comfortable rooms.and very nice looking staff members esp the ladies in the green downstairs and behind the counters. You have a great advantage over the other hotels in this regard. Keep up the great job. Also tell Kay (Works behind the front desk) thanks for making us feel welcomed, as you all did from bell boys to concierge out front. Yes, we enjoyed the music in the lobby and we noticed it. Very pleasant. Thanks for asking hope to return to you soon. Alan McDonald

After staying for almost 17 years at...
After staying for almost 17 years at the WESTIN Philippines Plaza, it was always good to be there. However since this was taken over by ACCOR Hotel Group, I encountered the worse ... I had to extend my stay for an other day. First i asked the reception and the reply was: Just contact your agency and it will be extended, without any problem, since you are an old customer of the Philippine Plaza. After contacting ASIAROOMS they confirmed that they have contacted the hotel and just waiting for the re-confirmation of the extension of one day. Even at the morning of the #prosumed check out # the reception confirmed, if the booking from the agency will be with the hotel, there is no poroblem. So after coming back in the afternoon at 16.00 hours from a meeting, the reception informed me that I have to check out, immediately. So they kicked me out. Response: Our hotel is fully booked. They did not take any effort to accomodate me for one night. What a pitty??? This would have never happened with WESTIN.... So i had to run around in Manila to look for an hotel. This has never happened to me at this hotel??? What a shame for ACCOR HotelGroup... Absolutely not to recommend.....

The Philippine Plaza Hotel in Manila was...
The Philippine Plaza Hotel in Manila was a very nice place to stay. Formerly the Westin Philippine Plaza hotel. The room that we selected was the "Superior Room" It was very large (about 20 feet by 15 feet) plus a small seating area near the doorway and a large bathroom. We were given a room on the 7th floor facing North with a view of the bay and the Manila skyline. We missed the sunset, but I think it would have been a nice room to sit on the patio and watch the sunset. The room included cable TV, had a stocked refrigerator, with items for an extra charge. The hotel had a pool, that we did not get to use. It also had a restaurant in the hotel. The breakfast was included, but I believe the room was an extra $16 for the breakfast. The "free" breakfast was great. It was a huge buffet with almost anything you could imagine, from fruit, pancakes, ham, sausage, international foods. It was definately worth the extra price. Not to mention the beautiful waitresses helping seat people, dressed very tastefully creating a rich feeling environment. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the airport in a taxi. Their is also two large malls within 15 minutes of the hotel. Taxis will drive thru the hotel unloading area occasionally, but may take a little time to get one during the very busy season. We were there during Holy Week in the Philippines. The hotel was mostly full during that time. FYI: Leave for the airport about three hours prior to your flight time to make your way thru the airport line, security and customs. Also, don't forget the 550 pesos charge in customs after changing your money to your local currency. I would highly recommend this hotel for a higher class hotel at a reasonable price. The location is great, just a couple of blocks from the bay/ocean.

Everything was perfect. Good value for money...
Everything was perfect. Good value for money although room carpet is little bit dated. The only negative was that when we ordered food from al fresco dining our food was served one at a time. There were eight of us and they did not serve our main course all at the same time so some of us finish their main meal already and the rest are still waiting. Overall stay was fantastic. Thank you so much.

We arrived at the Westin Plaza and...
We arrived at the Westin Plaza and had no assistance with our luggage. When we went to check in we were informed that the hotel had been taken over and was now The Phillipine Hotel. The service was either non existent or very slow. We were particularly annoyed when we went to enjoy their pool at 8.00am in the morning, only to find out that pool towels would not be available until 10.00am. This is the type of service that can be expected! The hotel also has its own taxi service which was extremely overpriced with prices commencing at 450 pesos to get to Makiti in non peak traffic. Overall, the hotel is not located within any major attractions and you have to rely on taxi service to get around. We will never stay at this hotel again.

I recommend this hotel to ALL tourists who really want to experience Filipino luxury style living. It is located and sorrounded by historic sites and the Philippines did a good job preserving it. It is a very classy Filipino hotel. It depicts what a real Filipino hospitality is like.
