The hotel plaza area was undergoing renovation when we were there. Rooms are nice and big, but need renovating (we stayed on 3rd floor). Do not accept any rooms on the first floor. We were shown a room on the first floor when we checked in and it was disgusting for a hotel of this standard. We complained and were relocated without question, so I think they know the problem with those rooms on that floor. Pool area is very nice, and the location is great for being away from the city centre. If they renovate the rooms we will stay there again. If not - we will go elsewhere.
Best hotel we've stayed in the Philippines!!! Staff was excellent: helpful, friendly and very prompt service. The hotel setting is beautiful, like being in a resort whilst in the city. Top quality food served in the restaurants, entertainment (comedy/band) in the nightclub was great. We and the kids enjoyed ourselves and will definitely stay there again next time we go back to the Philippines.
Very good value for the money, even though the entire ground floor is a construction site. Reception desk and cleaning staff are friendly and helpful, but business center staff are clueless about their job. Rooms continue to show lack of attention to maintainence and extensive wear and tear to furniture and fixtures. Wonderful pool.
It was the first time I have ever visited the Philippines and I was very impressed with the Westin's service. The rooms could have been a little better, the bathroom a little cleaner, the room bar was a little pricey and the bed could have been a little firmer. BUT, the hotel service throughout was excellent and first rate. The hotel's buffets were the best I have ever had. Great pool and view of Manila bay from the room as well. Just be mindful of the prices of the hotel taxis which can get high compared to local taxis. But is a more comfortable and safer ride.
Our stay was very pleasant with little or no negative views. The only complaint I may have is that I saw nothing to indicate the in-room bar was as extra per item charge. By the website, I took it to be part of the room charges themselves. It was surprising to find at checkout that it was not and I had seen nothing to indicate this. Otherwise, the staff was always pleasant and helpful and the rooms and service were top notch.
Hotel was great: friendly staff, good show by the Philippine dance troupe, but expensive price on the dinner; enjoyed the ocean view, looking forward to the new restaurants.
We loved the Westin Philippine Plaza hotel. Yummy buffet breakfast was included; it's at least a US$10 value. Hotel includes waterslide & pool. Outdoor bar-b-que includes free dance show. Only problem, it's a bit isolated... there really isn't anything within walking distance, and the taxis waiting at the hotel are expensive. But hey, if the hotel is good enough for the Indonesian President to stay at, it's good enough for you.
We have been staying at the Westin Philippine Plaza from one to three times per year for the last 15 years - and it is unthinkable for us to stay at any other hotel when we are visiting manila. Good, friendly and efficient service always
I love this hotel. Everyone is wonderful and service is amazing. I was amazed that the front desk always greeted me by NAME as i am walking up to the desk. I am like wow they remember who I am.
