Stay in the newer sections away from the street. Stayed on street side one vist and it is a bit noisy. Second stay we stayed away from the street and enjoyed our rest and quiet.

This hotel is "ok" and that's probably the best I can say about it really. I've stayed here about 6 times now and it doesn't change. The rooms are a little dated and need a serious refurbishment. The lifts are slow and unreliable. The staff are unhelpful at best and rude at worst. The street outside is dirty and full of beggars and con men. BUT, it's in a great location and it's got [expensive] wireless internet access in the rooms - and that's why I stay there. It's located between Ermita and Malate, close to public transport, close to Intramourus, close to Rizal Park, museums, close to Robinson's Mall etc. These are all important factors in Manila where slow traffic can account for half of your vacation time. Having said all that, the old "baywalk" nighttime food & entertainment area has been "cleaned up" by the mayor and moved down to the sea wall near the Mall of Asia so there's less reasons to stay around the Ermita/Malate area. Next time I may look for another hotel.

We had few problems with this hotel. The check in and check out processes are very slow. Despite we had a confirmed reservation, we were told have a seat and waited long time. Also we were asked to deposit a P1000 upfront for items in the room bar. On our checking out, I have seen another couple were asked to deposit only P500, strange! The room card is faulty and sometimes we have to try over 20 times before we could open our door, it is almost we are hacking a stranger room. The room had no coffee maker or water heater, this should be available for a room at this rate. Also we had no shampoo or conditioner in our room. The next day, I advise the room service no to bother me, I did not expect any value from their visit given the room condition in the first place. The restaurant, looked dingy and I would not trust eating any meal in that restaurant. We only had a cup of tea and was over priced.

Executive Plaza is not "the place", but it's very convenient for one night stay in Manila. The standard rooms are ok for the value (but that noisy AC) and if you don't mind having a "wall view" from the window,it's good enough and less noisy than a street view. Good for a quick step.

Overall room condition is good. Large spacious rooms, with tiled flooring is clean. Air-con though old-fashioned kept the whole room cool enough. Bathroom size was ok, though i found it strange that the hotel would charge for amenties like toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, etc etc .... amenties that other hotels provide for free. It is basically a no-frills hotel - Room did not have a kettle for boiling hot water & international electrical adaptors were not loaned to hotel guests (we were advised to buy it from the reception counter). Check-in at the reception was slow, with the staff not being able to find our reservations. However, 2 ladies manning the transport service desk were extremely helpful and friendly. Gave us plenty of advise on where to go, and how to bargain for the right cabfares. Location: not great. There were a few restaurants scattered within walking distance, and one shopping mall. Getting to the makati and greenhills shopping areas require cab rides of 20-30 mins each way.
