Manila Hotel, Manila. November 2010
While the hotel does have so much history and such a famous landmark in Manila, it is very tired. The Lobby is beautiful and a very nice welcome. However that is about where it ends. There was only one lift working over the weekend. No airconditioning in the corridors. They say they have a shopping arcade. Only 3 shops; Gift Shop, Clothes Shop & Hairdresser. There is building working going on with room renovations, or at least electrical wiring. They started before 08:00 both Saturday and Sunday, no chance of a sleep in.
Food was okay. However if there is a mistake on the Bill, such as mine with a drink on there even the staff agreed I did not order, they could not remove from the Bill as there was no Manager around with the necessary access to do so. While it was not expensive, about $6AU, it is the principal the Bill could not be corrected.
