The room was comparable to a North American highway motel for about 1/2 the price of this one.
Single pane windows made it very difficult to cool the room during the day and would finally cool down about 2am then heat up as soon as the sun rose usually around 5am.
The elevator reminded me of an old carnival ride and it was always breaking down.
The bar/restaurant was ok, only ate there once the food was excellent but a bit pricey for the budget minded.
The Hotel is old but it has been refurbished alas there is only so much a person can do to refurbish old short of gutting and rebuilding.
Housekeeping never entered my room the 4 days I was there so the garbage was never emptied and was overflowing by the time we left.
As a budget hotel it is typical of most I have stayed in over the years, it did have the added bonus of free wi-fi that worked in the rooms, being on the 5th floor we were above most of the street noise so that really wasn't a problem.

Very Convenient Place To Stay In Manila
The hotel is situated among two rows of buildings along a two - lane busy street where one can get anything under the earth. If you step out of the hotel, on the right hand side along the road, is 7-11 store, fast food restaurants ,dental clinic, money changer, budget hotels, better Star rated hotels, and further down about half km away is the Robinson Departmental store and CitiBank. If it is dark, don't walk because I saw quite number guys loitering along the road.There many trishaws which cost only PHP50 (MYR3.80 or USD 1.2) from Robinson back to hotel. Must haggle the fare
On the left hand side outside the hotel is laundry shop and at least 5 banks. I withdrew some local currency from one of the two international banks using my BSN ATM Debit card when I ran short of money.
The ancient capital and places of interest, China Town are very near the hotel . A two hour horse carriage ride for two persons cost only PHP1000 (RM75.00 or USD25.00) around ancient city n China Town with the horse man by the name of Boy as our unofficial guide

Aussie Oasis in Manila
This is a very clean and reasonably priced hotel in the Ermita District. It is run by an ex-pat Aussie and the staff are always friendly and go out of their way to help. It is a bit noisy at night in the bar area when full of customers, but no more so than a Pub in Australia when full. The room is always a quiet haven from the noise or walk across the road to the Slouch Hat for a quiet drink.
