The place around may look weird but in the end I was happy to find a good and safe room and a nice staff, not "over friendly" but smily and ready to help.
So the room is very correct but I'm not really confident concerning the dormitories I'm experiencing now.

The hotel is not clean and inconvenient
There was hairs on bed, and looks very dirt without bed sheet. The alternative bed sheet the waitress gave us were also dirty.
The space for wash room is so narrow and very inconvenient.

Only go if you are a budget traveller
This hotel is fine only if you are a budget traveller, otherwise you should stay in a better hotel. There're no soaps, towels at this hotel.
Awesome place to stay
My Stay at Manila International Youth Hostel was really awesome. I stayed there for 4 days and I felt like I was at home. Though it is not as hi-fi as a luxurious hotel, it is very homely and economical. It has all the basic amenities that are required and it is location gives you a wonderful experience of Manila. It is near to Manila Airport and to Baclaran LRT station. If I visit Manila again, this is where I'd stay.
Nice Hostel
I used to stay here at Ystaphil (the old name of this hostel as I know) when I was still single, frequently traveling to Manila, usually my hotels were sponsored by the office, and when it was not I checked in to Ystaphil, cos I find this a nice hostel with reasonable price, accessible and near the airport, the staff are very accommodating, food is okay. I love the trees around, feels you are just home. I appreciate their energy conservation, i.e. there is schedule for turning on the aircon. I can recommend this hostel to students, backpackers and those who simply like a nice place to sleep in.

I was impressed with the facilities and the service provided by those from the Hostel. It was above and beyond what I expected from a "hostel", and would recommend this as a place to stay to anyone. Not only was the cost amazing, but it had everything we needed for our stay in Manila.
It helps that the service especially from Joy was excellent, but it was a great way for us to experience Manila being in the heart of everything!
I would go and stay there again, and would recommend to anyone who doesnt mind staying in a place where you have the basics. Breakfast was yummy too, not used to having fish and rice for brekkie but hey it filled me up, props to the Chef!

I agree about quality price, but at least the hotel should give the saop and towel, the rest as bed sheet we can do ourself because the price is only 900php.

I had a flight that arrived in late and so this hotel was in a good location - close to the International airport. The room was quite large, and I thought it was value for money. It is just a basic hotel, so good for a 1 night stay or people on a budget. I don't think you'd stay in this area of Manila for more than a few nights unless you wanted to frequent some of the bars closeby.
