Casa Rosário Coelho, built in 1837 and restored in 1993/95, still preserves its original character.

You are welcome to visit the museum area, offering an exhibition of different ancient artefacts and some farm implements, part of the way of life of this population, and, as such, of the history of Porto Santo.



Wide and beautiful surrounding gardens, with countless retreats and a threshing-floor (fundamental in the life of a farmer), offer you extraordinary peacefulness and quietness. The grill restaurant complete this “paradise” located in Serra de Fora, on the south-eastern side of the island of Porto Santo, in an estate with 150 ha.

“Casa Mãe” (Mother House) has 2 bedrooms (totally independent, with direct access from the garden), with en-suite bathroom and twin beds, a room with TV and card table, and a dully equipped kitchen. Both the living room and the kitchen have several antique furniture and utensils. These facilities serve the guests from both rooms.



Still within “Casa Mãe”, we have “Casa do Avô” (Grandfather’s House). This House is totally independent from the above mentioned rooms, featuring one bedroom with double bed, TV room with sofa-bed and dully equipped kitchenette. Independence and privacy are privileged, since only the external structure is common to the whole “Casa Mãe”.



The use of the old “palheiros” (barns) gave rise to two large rooms: “Casa do Meio” (Middle House) has a double bed, sofa-bed, equipped kitchenette, TV, and en-suite bathroom (capacity 4 people);


“Casa da Galeria” (Gallery House), besides the above mentioned facilities, has a kind of attic with a double bed (capacity 6 people). The laundry room can be used by the guests (washing machine, washtub and iron). read more
