Driving from Dublin to The Carlton Hotel Galway City (Formerly Days Hotel Galway)

The drive from Dublin to Galway is 140 miles and will take approximately 2.5 hours.

The recently opened M6 motorway means there is a direct link from Athlone to Galway city.

Continue on the M6 motorway by-passing Athlone, Ballinasloe and Loughrea.

At the end of the motorway take the left hand slip road and continue to the first roundabout “Martin” and take the 3rd exit.

Go through two sets of traffic lights and meet the second roundabout (2nd exit past GMIT) then straight through two sets of lights and Carlton Hotel Galway City is located on your right.

Driving from Galway Airport Direct daily flights operate to and from Dublin, London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.

Galway Airport is located in Carnmore, approximately 6km from Galway City near Oranmore.

The short drive to the city centre is well signposted.

On exiting the airport, turn Right, at the Crossroads turn right until you approach the first roundabout 'Carrowmesh', take the 3rd exit towards Galway City.

The next roundabout 'Martin' - to the East and follow directions as above.

If you are driving, take the N18 north from Shannon to Galway City through Ennis, Gort, Kilcogan and Oranmore, from 'Oranbeg' Roundabout take the 2 nd exit and proceed to the next roundabout ‘Carrowmesh’ and follow directions as above.
