Room was clean except for a spill...
Room was clean except for a spill of juice on the night table. When this was brought to the attention of management housekeeping took care of it immediately. There was the sound of running water coming from the drain in the bathroom. This appeared to be associated with someone either upstairs or in the adjacent room running water or flushing the toilet. We also brought this to the attention of management but there was little they could do as this was a design "feature" of the hotel. They did offer to change our room but we did not want to do that so we lived with it. It was acceptable. The hinge on the toilet seat was broken. This should have been detected by housekeeping during their normal cleaning but apparently they did not take action or did not notice it. When I brought it to the attention of management they replaced the toilet seat immediately. One strange aspect to this room (and I believe all the rooms) is that the bathroom is separated from the bedroom area by two glass doors. While the glass is frosted the visibility from the bedroom area to the bathroom area rather revealing. This might be embarrasing for some sharing the room. Overall, the room was very nice and I would recommend the hotel to others. The staff were very attentive to problems brought to their attention.

Very enjoyable stay. Good breakfast and pool. Rooms were nice and large, as was the bathroom. And only a few blocks from the centre of china town. Would stay there again.

It was a lovely stay at the...
It was a lovely stay at the Amara Hotel, definitely worth going to. Location was good, close to the MRT, easy access to the taxi(right outside the lobby.) I wish though the rooms were cleaner each time the housekeepers came. The floor was dirty, the desk was also dirty. Apart from that it was GREAT!!

The Amara in Singapore was perfect for...
The Amara in Singapore was perfect for us. We were looking for a place to stay for one night en route home. The bedroom was luxurious and provided a very good nights sleep followed by a superb breakfast that set us up for the day. The only concern was the surprise shown by the hotel staff when we wanted a king size bed. Surely they must have seen two men wanting this before?!?

We were arriving in Singapore after 3...
We were arriving in Singapore after 3 months in India so this was a big treat for us. The Amara hotel was excellent, they let us check in at 9am and enjoy all the facilities after our long journey. Beds were amazingly comfortable and the duck down pillows just heavenly. Excellent value! I'd advise getting the rate including breakfast as it is massive and very expensive if you pay on your own.

Staff where very helpfull. The hotel seems to have some soft wear problems. I was not able to enter my room for the entire stay without the help of  a staff member walking me to my room to open the door. Other wise happy.

Cosy and nice ambience that makes anybody...
Cosy and nice ambience that makes anybody feels at home with good services and facilities.Good rate too.Public transportation is easy.Should advertise to be recognise.Lastly,Amara owns a very good band which performing at the bar and they're very entertaining.Congratulation!

The train station is only a block...
The train station is only a block and a half away. There is also a bus station outside the lobby. The hotel is pretty good value. However, the food service catered to the Japanese. The American food was plain and a bit expensive.
