The service at the reception is not very friendly, the kingbed is pretty big but not very comfortable, the room is spacious but not welcoming, and the carpet is not really clean with stains. Was looking forward to try the vietnamese restaurant whose advertisement could be seen in the hotel life but only be told that it had been closed down. Not a very pleasant stay, however the doorman is quite helpful.
The service provided was much poorer that past experiences. I had requested a no smoking room only to be allocated one on arrival. They eventually changed my room. The first room allocated furnishings were very dated and the second room the paint was flaking from the walls. I will not hurry back to this hotel again
Amara is still a nice hotel to stay in, however, was disappointed to find out that the complimentary breakfast was no longer available for the deluxe rooms. Staff is friendly, apart from one particular concierge whose people skills left much to be desired. His mobile kept ringing and he kept cutting us off to answer it. Some of the bathroom fixtures were falling apart, but at least the bathroom was clean.
Have stayed at the amara twice and it's generally very good.
However on this trip they completely forgot my room service order so I went down to the restaurant and was completely ignored as it was 11pm.
We are frm JKT and me and my kids love the hotel cos it fits the three of us just nice. (Father and 2kids and the room sleeps three easily). The only complain we have was for room service when we called for fresh towels. We have to call twice, and say "Immediately", then they sent right-away. Apart from that, it was a pleasant stay.
The Room was lovely the bath very welcome ,the bed comfortable and nicely decorated.I was looked after from the moment I checked in.Unfortunately I had to leave early due to a family emergency and every help was given to me by Tony (consierge)and the Staff.Thankyou so much,Susan
