Would recommend this Hotel. From check in to check out staff were efficient and polite. Hotel is really well located, close to shopping and MRT, and rooms were great.Would recommend this hotel to anyone, either for business or holiday.

Excellent hotel with an excellent location 2 minutes from City Hall metro. The room was very modern, clean and comfortable. I was particularly impressed with the duvet and pillows on the bed. The only possible complaint(and it is a small one) was the breakfast. The service staff could have been a little bit more efficient and the Asian food selections were surprisingly limited on the breakfast buffet. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was well located for my needs as around shopping area. I can go by foot to Clarke and Boat Quay at night. The MRT is 4 minutes walk. I can get rooms with superb views of the Raffles financial centre. The breakfast was above average but the restaurant opens 24 hours a day which is unusual in most hotels. I think it's a must-stay hotel if you come to S'pore for leisure or business. Value for money.

Well - I was a bit dubious...
Well - I was a bit dubious about the Carlton, reports on the building work were worrying. But I was looking for cheap, good accom. and that is exactly what I found.
Most of the building work in the main building is completed, reception and restaurants etc are done, but they are building an additional block and also a swimming pool, but you get little or no aggravation from that.
The public areas of the hotel are stunning. The rooms are good, but not exceptional. But it is amazingly well located, right next to Raffles hotel and less than 5 minutes to an MRT station.
Overall. I would highly recommend the carlton for anyone travelling to Singapore. You will not find better value for money.

The three days we stayed at the Carlton was money well spent. However, it could have ended in tears from the moment I received my door "key". I had requested a smoking room and as I entered the elevator, I noticed I had been assigned a non-smoking room. I told the receptionist I had requested a smoking room and was surprised to find they were fully booked. I felt more than a little insulted when he refered to my 3 year old daughter as if it were a crime to have her in such a room and that the hotel new best. Within seconds a second receptionist had found a smoking room and voila! We had been upgraded.
Throughout our stay service was exemplary. Special thanks to a well run concierge who were of immediate help when required. The Carlton hotel is one of the best situated hotels in Singapore if you want to see everything! Hailing taxis was easy, even during rush hour. Also there is an MRT (subway) within 5 minutes walking distance. The only negative for me. No swimming pool!

I would highly recomend this hotel, especially considering the location. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and efficient and genuinely helpful in both making our stay comfortable and in suggestions for where to go or how to get there.
