The 4 days i stayed instead of...

The 4 days i stayed instead of 5 At arrival I thought I was in a youth hostel , the room small , no ammeneties ,,TV not working . Promised to change room second day . B/fast slices of bread with butter and jam .... Plastic cups to have a coffee , enough room for 6 peoples . I had my B/fast at different places. Found better hotels within 5 minutes by taxi , the cost was $65 with full b/fast , fridge in room and a working TV Sorry i booked there , i had to leave earlier aldo cervelli

If you need a hotel room only...

If you need a hotel room only to sleep over for a couple of nights and have a tight budget, then this hotel is OK. The room was extremely small that I couldn't walk around. Though the room was clean, it looked a bit worn out and smelled a little mouldy. Shower was small too, and had no locks. Although it's a budget hotel, for the money spent I had expected better.

I was surprised by the size of...

I was surprised by the size of the room, the queen size bed did not belong there, it was difficult to get in or out the bed. This hotel has his past glory but now need a major upgrading if the owner want to stay in business Now next door and across the street you have better deal. This is a pity the staff is extremely nice and deserve to work. The breakfast is also too minimalistic.

The exterior of the hotel is very...

The exterior of the hotel is very beautiful. Location is nice. Price is ok. Apart from that, everything is awful. Rooms are very small. It makes one feel squeezed inside. It smells bad. Bathrooms are really small. No facilities. No natural light inside the rooms. Noisy. Always warm inside. You'll likely see some cockroaches. Breakfast: 2 tables in the small lobby, a toaster, some supermarket plastic bag with bread, an electric water boiler, some tea bags and butter and - help yourself... If price and location are the only drivers for your decision, than consider this hotel. Otherwise think about the neighbours Hotel 1929 and Peacock Hotel.

For $79 in U.S. dollars,...

For $79 in U.S. dollars, I expected more than what we got in the room. I have never stayed in such a small room before in my life, and I have done a lot of budget travel. The bathroom was unbelievably small and there was a constant leak of some kind from the bathroom. The hallways were dirty. And the staff, while courteous, were not especially friendly. I will say that the bedding was immaculate. Would I stay there again? No.

Overall, this hotel is very poor value....

Overall, this hotel is very poor value. The rooms are very small with little natural sunlight. The breakfast is really appalling & just not worth the effort. On the plus side, the hotel is clean & the staff are helpful. This hotel is far too expense for the very poor facilities on offer.

Friendly staff and clean room. Room was very small so if you want to hang out there it would be a no no but if you want somewhere nice to crash in a great location this is the one for you!!!!

Um the location was good, close to...

Um the location was good, close to local eminities, however the room was tiny, the shower leaked into the room, and was a mere dribble. The bathroom/shower attatched to a toilet was poorly maintained. The bedroom itself was fine, place to sleep with air-con, but if you want to keep clean in the dirty area of Chinatown...this probably is not the best choice.

The location of the hotel was good...

The location of the hotel was good with it being central to transport and in the middle of Chinatown. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was not the glossy, clean or well built hotel displayed on your website, I think the pictures you have are greatly digitally enhanced. On arrival we were shown a tiny and VERY smelly room which was dirty with rotting curtains, mouldy carpet and covered in dust. On request we were shown several other rooms most of these rooms were not much better but having no choice that things would improve we chose a larger room on the ground floor. This room smelt less but was certainly not any cleaner also despirately needing carpet, curtains, repair (including the bathroom where the shower head was nearly falling off)and painting. The window was very small you could not open the frame to full capacity as it was stuck. This would have made no difference as the view was impaired by a concrete structure attached to the wall which is also a fire hazzard. It is a shame that a beautiful old building with great potential is not looked after with a good repair job and clean this hotel has potential. But we would not be going back there and will not be recommending it to our family or friends.We had booked in for 4 nights and if we could have got our money back we would have left.
