It is a very nice hotel. The hotel staff is very helpful (Evelyn at the front desk was my favorite lady): when we arrived, we were placed on the 2nd floor with no view at all, the next morning we were moved to a higher floor at no charge at all and in less than one hour! Amenities are great: tea kettle is a nice addition. The hotel is within 10-20 minute walk from Orchard Street and its abundance of malls. However, the hotel is located on top of a hill, so if walking is not on your list of activities, you need to plan on arranging for a taxi to take you back to the hotel from your daily city trips. Pool was wonderful, they even have a wading pool for kiddies. Air-conditioning is not cold at all, just learn to adjust the thermostat. Also - if you are arriving in the middle of the night, make sure you ask the front desk to explain to you how work the lights in the room. Restaurant downstairs is very nice, but outrageously expensive. Better plan on having your meals elsewhere.

The hotel was wonderful! The room and perhaps more importantly, the bathroom was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful in arrranging tours and a taxi for a 3:45 am pick-up. The location was excellence, within walking walking distance to shopping and the MRT. I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel itself is clean and well presented in the communal areas, however the queen deluxe room I was given was definitely on the "compact" side. It was however immaculately presented and had everything you would expect from an international hotel. The room service runs up till 4.00 AM which is a great boon for those people on the move with body clocks askew with jetlag.

Good hotel, close to the main shopping district and a short and inexpensive taxi ride from all other areas. If you like a view of the city and a lovely pool then the Elizabeth hotel is perfect just remember the prices in the hotel are not nesesarily the cheapest. Most of the reception staff couldn't be faulted but one was rather rude and off hand. I think because myself and my companion were rather younger than the average guest we were treated with less courtesy than those with more disposable income and thus were patronised. However we enjoyed our stay insipte of this.

Excellent location. Nice quiet street within minutes of shops and Orchard Rd. Good facilities, incluidng swimming pool and relaxation areas. A most enjoyable stay.

The Elizabeth Hotel is an adequate hotel bearing in mind the price. I stayed overnight and it served my purposes, but had I been staying longer I would have wanted more creature comforts, unless I was going to be out all day. The hotel is somewhat 'tired' and the bathrooms and restaurant in particular could do with modernisation. Breakfast was a rather sad affair and not cheap. I would therefore recommend nipping out to Starbucks. The double bed was small and there were few TV channels available. Indeed in the morning I could only access Chinese channels.

I would recommend this hotel to those looking for solid value. The room was small, but clean, everything worked and plenty of amenities. It did have a clean, modern, attractive bathroom. The hotel lounge was excellent for sitting and talking. It has lots of couches and high back leather type chairs organized so you can't overhear/be overhead by others in the lounge.
We had trouble getting a cab. I suspect that is an ongoing problem since the hotel is at the end of a quiet street. Its a little far to walk to Orchard Road (several blocks) and you'd struggle to walk back up the hill on a hot day. Otherwise the immediate area is quite nice and quiet.
