Room was dingy and hadn't been decorated in years. Carpet was covered in stains and dust was prevalent everywhere. Only redeeming point was that it was relatively central. Thankfully only staying two nights.
We had an excellent stay at the Elizabeth Hotel. We had a newly renovated room, reasonably small but very comfortable. Everything works well and all the comforts you would want at this price range. The pool and leisure facilities were good and the location is ideal for Orchard Road. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The breakfast and daytime / evening menu was very tasty and competitively priced. Easy to get a taxi etc. I would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family.
This stay was a comedy of errors.
Upon checkin i paid the extra 30 dollars to cover internet etc. That was fair enough I suppose.
Anyway refrigerator barely kept anything above room temp. Called downstairs for an ice-bucket -it never turned up. Called again - no answer for several attempts. Had to go downstairs (in the pyjamas) and get it myself!
Went down for breakfast in the AM. They checked the "package" and said it was not included. I was paying more than the "packages" on their own website. They claimed breakfast was not available as I had booked through an "agent".
Wife went to have a bath. Water came out with a black sludge. Called reception and manager arrived. He wanted to send engineering up to start fixing (10:30at night). He settled for a photo. Water barely luke warm by the way. Took the opportunity to show him the exposed electrical wiring behind the bed (another photo).
Took the opportiunity to have laundry done - 2 pieces allowed for the extra 30. On day of departure it arrived back damp on the hanger. Returned to reception. They noted it was wet and said they would fix. Returned1 hr later. Still wet! I gave up and packed it - on way back to Oz anyway.
This was not a cheap Hotel. Indeed using the "agent" saved me nothing. Good location to Orchard Road. That was the only positive. That being said I would not go near the place. I have stayed in Hotels throughout Asia - by far the worst.
This is the fourth time I've stayed at the Elizabeth. This time I received a free room upgrade. I like the location, the rooms are nice and clean, and the hotel staff is helpful and friendly. I will be staying here again on my next visit to Singapore.
The services are brilliant. Served with smiles all the way. The room is a little bit old looking. Needs a bit of refurbishing. But i will stay in this hotel again.

All staffs in the hotels provide good service, they are absolutely flexible to guest's request.
Though we checked in and checked out at the same day, we still given the breakfast vouchers to enjoy our breakfast. A smile for their good service.
