We arrived at the hotel for a late check in at 3am Singapore time, the reception was NOT friendly. A little smile when checking guest into their rooms would go a long way. Bad to absolute worse breakfast in any hotel.
Very good location next to orchard road and within
100-200 meters of the city centre. Tour guide located on reception which we used to go to Sentosa Island (please allow one day) and river cruise (Chinese high tea about 4 hours). The tour agent on ground floor is fabulous.
Summary;
Good;
Location, room service, access to tour information, convenient store on ground floor and chili crab restaurant on ground floor and only $5 Singapore dollars to Mustafa Little India by blue taxi (the shop that has everything in the world). Taxi prices vary depending on peak, off-peak and if ERP (singapore toll for using busy roads) is paid or not.
Airport to hotel was charged $47 SG dollars however going back was only charged $15.40 SG dollars.
Breakfast
Breakfast same for 5 days. The breakfast was NOT changed for over 5 days and if the management of Grand Central can read this comment please note that at least two items on the breakfast can be changed daily to give greater choice. Boiled eggs with shell, sliced tomatoes, sliced bread tea and coffee and other items of similar, sausages of poor choice.
Bad
Old furniture, and furniture could take a good dry clean. TV and fridge small. Bathroom old style and requires update. The Pool was out of service for the entire 5 days we were at the hotel.
Overall
Value for money accommodation near city centre.
