We appreciate hotels in Singapore are not...
We appreciate hotels in Singapore are not cheap (our daughter lives in Singapore and advised us of that!).
However, our main problems with the hotel were firstly, the breakfast needs to have some variety - each day it was the same (other than the eggs alternated between scrambled and omelette style). It would have been good to have some bacon perhaps and some choice for the fruit (water-melon and honeydew melon only), cereal (cornflakes or coco-pops only) and the bread offered no choice - white sliced only.
There was an incident which concerned us - one morning, I discovered an open staple (steel staple used in a stapling machine for documents!) in my mouth whilst eating cornflakes. I showed it to the lady managing the breakfast room and of course she apologised and disappeared towards the kitchen. It would have been pleasant to have received some formal apology from the hotel, but we did not hear any more.
Secondly, we asked at the reception desk one evening for some powdered milk we could use with our tea the following morning, as there was none in our room. The young lady behind the reception desk suggested we went to the 7/11 store! When we explained again what we wanted, we were told we could not have any because the kitchen was closed! I would have thought it not have taken much effort to arrange a couple of dried milk sachets for us as hotel guests, but it seemed that was not possible, so we had to make do with balck tea the following morning. Not a big deal, and almost funny (the suggestion we went to the 7/11 store to obtain the milk did at least give us a smile afterwards), but other hotel guests might not find it as amusing as we did.
Yours sincerely
