The whole place smelled of cigarettes
Upon entering the hotel, we were gobsmacked on how decadent the hotel looked and we were quite impressed with the standard (aesthetically) of the hotel. We had a bit of a hiccup with our reservation as it was done via Asiarooms so the checking-in took longer than expected. But to make up for this, they upgraded us to a premium room so we were happy with that.
We were in the main tower and when we got out on our floor, the first thing i noticed was the smell of cigarettes. This is especially frustrating considering we had specifically asked for a non-smoking floor. So we enter the room and we were gobsmacked for the second time. The lovely decor and aesthetics do not follow on in the room. The room was old and the decor dated. And to top it off, the room wreaked of cigarettes. I called reception and as it turns out, she had put me in the non-smoking room. I couldn't believe it. I accepted it begrudgingly and decided to find out for myself if all the other floors smelt the same.
We went to the lifts and went to the ground floor and the plan was to get out of the lifts where other people in the lift were getting out of and realised the whole hotel smelt like that.
With all this knowledge of the hotel, I don't think i'll be staying there ever again.
