We did not eat at the hotel,...
We did not eat at the hotel, so this review is based on the accommodation experience only. Staff service was generally courteous and efficient, except that the front desk was understaffed, which led to unwelcome delays. The room allocated to us for the first night (#1000) was too small, faced directly on to the wall of the next building, and was not of similar standard to other rooms in the same range. We requested a change of room and were relocated to room #717 which was up to the expected standard and much more acceptable. The worst attribute was provided by a very loud discotheque, either in the hotel or in the immediate neighbourhood, which operated right through the Friday night until after 0500 on the Saturday morning; the insistent thump-thump-thump makes it difficult for hotel guests to sleep. The location of the hotel, at the junction of Orchard and Tanglin Roads, is, of course, otherwise very convenient, so it's a pity some understanding cannot be reached with the noisy night-clubbers. Cleanliness, laundry service and concierge services were of a high standard. I would probably stay at the Orchard Parade again, but would not want to pay a cent more than we did.
