Excellent service and staff from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Close to shopping and other centres but gives you the feeling of tranquility in a bustling city. Not the cheapest hotel but very good value if you want a little pampering.

Room at Raffles hotel was very dark and noisy (many functions/weddings and people in room above)! Service was excellent.

I generally approach iconic hotels such as Raffles with a little scepticism; that is, I leave room for slight disappointment when the glossy photographs can not easily be reconciled with the real thing. We stayed at Raffles for four nights - it surpassed all expectations. The intruiging fusion of colonial and chinoiserie creates a comfortable elegance which is enjoyable rather than intimidating. Although my husband and I were warned that Raffles seemed quite 'stuffy' before we left, we found this not to be the case. Our nine year old daughter was made most welcome by the Raffles' staff, who were generous, warm and genuinely interested in her daily exploits. The service at Raffles is outstanding and rightfully legendary. The food is impeccable. To dine at Raffles is therefore quite expensive - it is worthwhile to explore alternatives if staying for a few nights. Altogether, I suggest Raffles is well worth the expense.

We stayed for 1 night to beak the journey home from Sydney to Manchester, the Hotel itself was all the Legend had it be, still keeping that English touch of eccentricity whilst the Service was first class and friendly. Rick Alston MaPS

Raffles is without a doubt our favourite...
Raffles is without a doubt our favourite all-time hotel. Although it is relatively small and its gym, spa and rooftop pool are also quite small, it is charming. The pool is stunning and the staff are perfect. If you leave your room for even just a half hour, they somehow manage to find time to replace the iced water and fresh tropical fruits before your return. This is the only place to stay if you value excellent service above all else. We checked into our room at 7.45 am (what other hotel would do that?) and extended, free of charge, a late check out as well! Meals are expensive although the quality is superb. For an excellent and cheap breakfast, try Ah Teng's Bakery in Raffles Hotel Arcade. An excellent continental breakfast costs only S$5 (about £2 sterling.) Cooked breakfasts only add about £1 to the total cost and they even do dim sum. It's nice to see that such a fine hotel doesn't cater only to the very rich. Raffles is expensive but, if you are celebrating a special occasion - birthday, anniversary, etc - I would make the effort to spend at least 1 night here. I guarantee that it won't be your last.

If you have the money Raffles Hotel...
If you have the money Raffles Hotel is a must when in Singapore. The hotel is shrouded in history and the facilities are fantastic. From the moment the front door is opened for you, the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating.
