Pretty average
I really thought that the Fairmont had undergone a huge upgrade. We were rather shocked to see that the room we had was identical to that of the previous tired rooms we'd had at the Swissotel Stamford. Quite a let down. I also object to having to pay for internet access. Our Asia Rooms booking form said we'd have separate shower and bath and Bose sound system - not so.

The Fairmont was a delightful hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the rooms were cleaned twice daily and were fresh and comfortable. The spa for 18+ on floor 6 was amazing, and pool was lovely. We did not eat at the hotel so can't comment. The foodcourt in the adjoining Raffles Center was perfect for couples and families, as were local restaurants.
The only significant disappointment was the bedding. We booked 3 nights in a standard family room for 2 adults and 2 children (aged 9 and 10 years). The room originally had a huge king bed (divine for couples), which was separated into two very small doubles - one for the adults to share, one for the son and daughter to share. It was not sufficient for this type of accommodation and should not have been advertised as a family option. The backpackers hostels in Europe had better bedding arrangements than this. I suggest families with kids older than 5 either book the suites, two rooms or stay elsewhere.

The overall service was great, people were always smiling and corteous. I would stay again and recomend it to everyone I know, the past at Prego was great too.

Having stayed at various Fairmont Hotels all around the world we had high expectations of the service and facilities, and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back. Our only criticism was that we werre recommended by the concierge to have suits made at Mr Russo who makes uniforms for the Fairmont, and we paid $800 for a suit and shirt, only to find many other friends who had suits made at other locations and paid less than half of what we did. I felt that we were taken advantage of financially because the Fairmont recommended him to us. That left a very sour note to end the holiday, otherwise everything else was perfect.

Having been a regular guest of this property for over a decade and experienced the management by Westin, Raffles and The Fairmont. The recent stays and experiences with this hotel under the management of Fairmont has shown further improvements when it comes to guest relationship and the focus on details.

We came across from Batam to go to The Nutcracker as part of the Christmas celebration and decided to stay at a good hotel to top it all off. A very pleasant finish to a spectacular evening at the ballet.

Great hotel recently renamed from Raffles the Plaza to Fairmont under same ownership. We were upgraded from a standard to next level room which was excellent - great bath/shower combo, wonderful king sized bed with luxury linen, free bottled water, excellent service. TIP - join the Fairmont hotel club (it's free) and you get free internet access in your room (on this and all stays) - worth $S28 per day.
