a beautiful hotel that needs maintenance
The hotel is in a good location and presents well upon entry. The staff provided an outstanding level of service and the food was excellent. The room although spacious and pleasingly decorated was disappointing. The airconditioning was freezing cold and the controls were faulty and could not be adjusted. Part of the roof fell down lucky we were not injured but it did block the door which meant we could not go out unitl it was fixed, as we had to hold the roof up to let the maintenace staff in, if this had happened when we were outside we could not have re-entered the room. The pipes gurgled all night and the bathroom was not clean. The bed was very firm but still confortable but the pillows large and firm with no choice for people requiring a softer pillow. The iron was dangerous as the cord was freyed with wires exposed.
I booked this hotel for a good nights sleep - this was not provided due to the issues with the room. If these issues are confined only to the room in which we stayed and are remedied I would recommend it. I hope this is the case as it could be a very good hotel, it would be ideal for a conference as it has good meeting rooms and is well configured for this purpose.
