Good location and tasty breakfast,nice room with...
Good location and tasty breakfast,nice room with comfortable bed :) As a little inconvenience I can mention strange smell in the room and problem with the flush in the bathroom. Generally summerview is worth of staying.

We are couple but the room given...
We are couple but the room given was twin-sharing. There's no slippers available even toothbrush, and the toilet bowl flusher is not working properly. The free breakfast served is ok, but its the same everyday. I have stayed in bencoolen hotel last 2006 so I could compare my stay in both hotels. But for budget traveler, this hotel is ok.

When I first made my reservation at...
When I first made my reservation at the Summerview I hadnt looked at any of the reviews and after reading the reviews I have to say I was a little nervous as the majority of the comments were bad. However having now stayed at the hotel I can confirm that my concerns were ill founded as were most of the comments. Yes the hotel is old and yes the rooms are small but it was very clean, the staff were all friendly and the location is perfect. I can only assume that the people staying here previously were expecting a 5 star hotel for a 3 star price. Singapore is expensive, it always has been, you get what you pay for and that is the case with the Summerview. If you want somewhere to use as a base, that is clean and you only want to sleep there then it is great, if you want luxury, a pool and all the frills pay twice as much and stay somewhere else!

While the hotel is close to lower...
While the hotel is close to lower end shopping, the surrounding buildings offer no view at all and construction if going on right across the very busy street. The area was not close to higher end shops, restaurants, or venues and scenery. There were no hotel amenities to speak of. The staff were very nice and the room was clean but the bathroom was in need of updating and repair;I could not flush to toilet which colored my whole view. It was only $100 so I guess I got what I paid for.

At first they offered us a room...
At first they offered us a room with NO WINDOWS ! ! And not linked to another. After we protested, we got a room more appropriate and that was linked to the second room. Why did they try to give us a the first room?

At the hotel, I felt free to...
At the hotel, I felt free to go wherever because it located in good location, down town. Taking only 5-8 minutes to Bugis MRT station. It's clean, value to stay if you're not serious about a room size, it's a bit small and no window! Anyway, service is OK as well. However I just wondered why every hotel price in SG is getting higher...

Th room was not taht big with two single beds. We booked actually through asiaroom a queen bed, but not available Missed shampoo in the bathroom Tv is small, no cnn or sports or movie Mostly chinese programms The breakfast was nice, but breakfastroom is small, some morning people had to wait before seated
