I have stayed at Traders twice during the past year. The rooms are generally smaller than you might expect in this level of hotel, but the facilities overall are very good, including a very nice spa, a very friendly and helpful staff, and an excellent breakfast buffet.
It is not on Orchard Rd. so avoids some of the train station atmosphere of those hotels, but is nonetheless in nearby walking distance to Orchards and shopping.
The hotel does have a shuttle bus to the main shopping district and MRT. It is also attached to Tanglin Mall which has a few nice simple places to eat and some interesting shops - so really lots to offer the visitor from this location.
I have been to Singapore many times and would say at this point that I prefer this hotel to all others in the Orchard area of this standard. It is a friendly place and good value but big enough also to offer good facilities and a pleasant stay.
