A very nice Hotel. We were upgraded even thought we arrived 8 hours early due to flight changes. Staff were very friendly and polite. The room size was excellent. We are staying there on our way home.

In general, my wife and I were...
In general, my wife and I were very pleased with the hotel. Our rate included breakfast, which was excellent. However, there was one disappointment. We were hoping to have a room with a double bed, but we finished up with twin beds. When I booked the room through AsiaRooms, I could not find a prompt for specifying a standard double bed. I have the impression that hotels prefer to equip rooms with twin beds because it gives them more flexibility. However, this is not always what the customer wants.

Having stayed a week at the York...
Having stayed a week at the York Hotel wish to comment as follows: the foyer is spacious and elegant; the breakfast room/restaurant not at all cosy; did not tempt to have dinner there. The pool was clean, but there were only a few sun deck chairs available. Service was OK, and the location perfect as regards the shopping streets.

We stopped at the York for a...
We stopped at the York for a break in our onward journey to Australia & had the most pleasant experience. Our two nights spent there were excellent & the staff could not do enough to make our stay a very pleasant one. The breakfast in particular was the best we have experienced. We have passed our findings to other people and hope that they call on you in the future. We will certainly be back on our next trip to Australia. Thank you all very much. The hotel is excellently located just off...
The hotel is excellently located just off the busy Orchard Road, allowing walkable access to a huge range of shops, restaurants and bars. The exterior of the hotel is not overly impressive, and the communal areas don't have an atmosphere that encourages loitering, but you receive a friendly welcome and good service. The pool area is adequate and clean for a midday dip, but doesn't inspire you to spend any great amount of time there. The rooms are a good size for Singapore and adequately appointed, but a general impression of the hotel would be bland; this is a hotel more geared up to business travellers that leisure travellers. Overall a good value for money hotel for a short stopover in Singapore, conveniently located only 20 mins by taxi from airport.

We arrived at 2am in the morning...
We arrived at 2am in the morning feeling exhausted and tired. We were welcomed and within ten minutes shown to our room which was well above our expectations for what we were paying. We were treated very well throughout our stay. Even the day we booked out, they stored our luggage and gave us permission to shower (and were given clean towels) before we left for the airport. Highly recommended
