Hotels in Singapore are generally expensive compared to other cities so I wouldn`t say its good value for money,however its one of the cheapest in the Orchard area.The room was clean and comfortable and reasonable size.

Lacks service and room is really simple
Bell service was slow. We had to carry our luggage to our room when we checked in. Room was really simple. We booked the superior room. It's lacking simple amenities like disposable toothbrushes, cotton bud, etc... Room is simple. Not romantic. Don't book if you want a romantic getaway.

Great Location
Innitial impressions were great, $12 for the taxi from the airport and greeted with help to get luggage out and up the stairs to the motel....but then upon check in it took ages with no explanations along the way......but then we realised the delay had been around room allocation and we ended up in a massive 3 roomed, 2 bathroomed upgrade. This pleasant surprise plus the close vicinity to Orchard Road and the MRT made the stay very memorable.

Cold Hotel
Customer service and clean room are good points for the hotel. My room was too big, more than 40 M2 and "cold" with no atmosphere. Two bad points: have to pay internet service and drinking water.

Better options are available
I frequently transit through Singapore. A business friend from Australia had booked into the York so I did too. The hotel was okay but nothing special, particularly when compared with other Singapore hotels in this price range. TV channel selections were extremely limited, the hotel charges for internet use (which is usually free), and the double bed that I had selected in advance turned into a brusque "sorry, only single beds are available" notification. The rooms were clean and the location is good.

Good stay
The rooms are clean and reasonable value for Singapore. The location to Orchard road and the MRT is good, about a 5-10min walk down the street - the hill on returning isn't an issue unless you have a health problem. I would stay again.

Service is excellent. But no free wifi/internet,...
Service is excellent. But no free wifi/internet, we must pay very expensive SGD 28/day for internet. Near Orchard shopping center. Near Mount Elizabeth Hospital. But we must bring our luggages through stepping long stairs from outside to lobby door, it is hard for old men/women. The surrounding area is good and clean. Overall are excellent.

We arrived late at night and were...
We arrived late at night and were quickly booked in. The presentation of the Hotel was inviting and we were pleasantly surprised at the size of our room. Being on the 13th floor we enjoyed panoramic views of the city. Good value for money as far as we were concerned. Hotel food is expensive so we ate out. Very good Gym and pool. Booking out a little slow as we picked a busy time. Overall a very pleasant experience.

The only problem with the hotel is...
The only problem with the hotel is the distance you have to walk from the nearest public transport (train or bus). The path up to the hotel is an uphill street so that makes the walk that much more difficult.
