The Hotel is the B of Budget....
The Hotel is the B of Budget. Like the other reviews the rooms are very small. We stayed their three days over the months of June and July 2007 and were in three differing rooms. The rooms are for a one-night stay for stopovers such as we did. There was a musty/moth ball smell in all the rooms we stayed in. It was like staying in your grand mothers spare room. My children loved the swimming pool as it had a slide into it, which amused them for some time. It was less than $20 taxi fare from the airport. Most taxi drivers knew of the hotel. We booked through asiarooms with nil problems. On the website we could only book the room for 2 adults and 1 child. We have 2 children however the hotel did not charge us. The free breakfast for us all was not to bad. If it a budget short time hotel for an overnight stop and you are trying to save your $$ this is the place. The staff were fine as well. Shopping Sim Lim Square for electricals and my wife enjoyed shopping in Chinatown for clothing at a centre called Peoples Park.

This hotel is the worst value for...
This hotel is the worst value for money hotel I have stayed in. There were renovations going on whilst we were there, which we were not informed about, but worse, they were renovating the outside of the hotel, when the inside so desperately needs attention. The room was extremely small...we had trouble fitting two suitcases without having to climb around them constantly. The bathroom was a disgrace, old (which is okay), dirty (which is NOT okay) and extremely small. There was other peoples hairnets on the carpet, all the fittings were very dated, and the breakfast was nothing special. The only redeeming feature was the location, which is right on the Singapore river, a 5 minute walk to Clarke Quay. By the way, be aware that if you are swimming in the pool, the rooms above can see everything that goes on, so keep it clean, unlike some of the guests who were there when we were. I would not recommend this hotel until it had cleaned up and probably renovated the INSIDE.

My wife and I stayed at the...
My wife and I stayed at the Robertson Quay Hotel for 3 nights in June 2007. We were expecting a fairly good sized room and good facilities and service, after reading the reviews on the internet. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed at the facilities and level of service. The room was small and the bathroom even smaller. The shower did not have a shower screen resulting in the floor and toilet set getting wet and staying wet everytime we took a shower. We did not have a double bed but two single beds instead and this was most inconvenient. When we approached the Hotel Staff they said they could not help us as all the rooms with double beds were booked. The buffet breakfast we had on one of the three mornings was just average, nothing fancy. One good thing was the view from our window which overlooked the river. I doubt I will consider this Hotel again when I next visit Singapore.

This is a very poor hotel. The rooms are tiny and dirty. The toilet area is what you would expect from a hostel. The sheets have tears in them. The internet is convienently located in the lobby, but was always broken. 2 of the 3 terminals did not work. On the brighter side, the location is great - the hotel is right on the river close to many nice restaurants, shops and bars. I would recommend this hotel only to budget travellers or those looking to save some cash while staying in a nicer area.

My stay at this hotel was a disappointment. The hotel offers a great location but doesn't make the most of it. The room was stuck in a 1970s timewarp, like the rest of the hotel. The service was poor as I was assigned a twin room not the double I had booked. The bathroom was awful. On the plus side the air con and TV worked well. However, I would recommend people spend a few dollars more and stay in one of the many good hotels in Robertson Quay.

We had a pleasant stay. The reviews...
We had a pleasant stay. The reviews we had read made us a little apprehensive at first. But it was not as bad as the reviews. Yes, the rooms are a little small but we managed. It is strategically located near restaurants, mrt (10mins walk away) and buses. Never short of taxis even on a rainy day. The view of the river from our room was lovely. We could take morning or night strolls along the river. Just relaxing. It has a small swimming pool, gym and a little breakfast area at the lobby. Dont need much in the hotel because we could get everything else outside the hotel (all within walking distances). We would definitely stay here again.
