Took a long time just to checkin....
Took a long time just to checkin. Seems like the reception staff must have been new or they have no idea of what they were doing or how to read the internet vouchers. Had a long fight about how we did not have a reservation for today when the voucher clearly stated today's date. Breakfast could have been a lot better. Many of the TV channels listed where not available. The hotel is about 300 meters from the MRT exit (union mall/square),but the MRT exit is also about 3-400 meters from the MRT electronic gate. There are a lot of tours booked at the same time and a karaoke lounge and massage just down stairs. Strange to have a queen size bed and a twin in the same room. In room safe was great. The fridge had no food, drinks, or water and was not plugged in when we arrived.
Overall, an inexpensive hotel for Singapore and better than Golden Landmark for this price due to safer/cleaner surrounding area.
Our room was next to the elevator...
Our room was next to the elevator and it was very very noisy since 4.00 am due to guests shouting by calling their friends and they were talking so loud that woke us up every morning. The windows were dusty and in the cupboard that TV.were on top was very very dusty. No drinking water in the room. The fridgerator was fulled of ice. The room service did not wash my cup of coffee and it should have a small towel for hand so that we can wipe off the water from the sink in the bathroom. The bedcover is too old.

In my opinion, this hotel is great!! It's clean, size of room quite big and service was good. It's very convenience to go anywhere by bus. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel with various route which is can take you go everywhere. But I'm not recommend to take a train because it takes you 10 mins walk to station.

I stayed there for 3 night this month, the services are quite good and the staff are friendly and helpful. Location is very convenience. The furniture are bit too old style but quite clean. Good value for leisure traveller and business.

The hotel was a nice clean and pleasant hotel to stay at, but it was a bit far removed from many of the attractions for me, but nonetheless I would still recommend it.

The rooms are clean and spacious but the furniture are outdated. There is scope of improvmnt in the room services. Location wis it is really good.

We stayed at Royal for 3 nights. Rooms are clean and large enough. Breakfast was nothing much. Location is good. One can get to Cached Street by bus. Staff is courteous compared to other hotels in Singapore
Inexpensive hotel in Singapore. Novena MRT Station...
Inexpensive hotel in Singapore. Novena MRT Station is about 8 min walk away so it is fairly well located though you can't find any shopping centre at your doorstep.
Throngs of package tourists from Thailand, Vietnam, HK, China, Phillipines etc. Breakfast is very basic and you need to be very early or late to avoid the crowd.
My room was fairly decent for the price I am paying, so I am not complaining. The hotel had made efforts to refurbish but it still shows signs of age.
The lifts were slow and unreliable.
Staff attended to my requests fairly well.
Overall, I am pretty satisfied. Come on, it is a 3 star hotel. I expected 3 star service and they provided that.
