Great views
They gave me floor 6 with a front view. I can see the sky and weather it will rain or not.
I can also see the hustle and bustle downstairs and on the streets where there are many women standing around which i can say will not bother you if you are not looking for their business. just walk past and its all fine.
Its a good location as its cheap and only $2.5 to central with deposit refunded $1.
Buses just 2 mins walk away and food everywhere. You will never starve at anytime of the day.
The internet service per 24 hours is a good extra as the wifi in the room is very good. 4 bars.
There is also free water, kettle and tooth brush comb and shower gel.
It is very complete for a stay of a day or more.
No signs of cockroaches which i was happy about where others have.
pity about the Mcdonalds delivery with a 1 1/2 hour wait.. too long so a 2 min walk to the street food was more convienient. Also they cut me off after waiting 5 mins on the phone.
Wanted the experience but wasnt worth it. street food far more tastier and cheaper. even at 2am.

+++
Really value or money! Travelling with only females isn't recommended given the location. But very good place for food, 10min walk to kallang mrt which is cheap to use. Hotel offered offered free wifi for our room whch was a nice surprised considering the price we paid for the room.

Real Singapore??
I travel to Europe via Singapore 3-4 times a year and this is the first time I have stayed in a budget accommodation. My normal hotel ranges at about 4 times the price charged by Hotel 81 Princess, so with this in mind I was willing to except a few differences. The room could certainly be cleaner, it was not outright dirty, but after a little while in my cotton slippers I accumulated a pile of dust / fluff with long black hair mixed in. The Towels were worn down to the threat, literally. In a shower over bathtub a shower curtain would also go a long way to prevent flooding the bathroom. The fire-alarm was covered with plastic wrap, obviously by a smoker that stupped out his cigarettes in the bedside table drawer. the butts were gone but the burns are still there. The hotel is very noisy, partly outside noise but the wall also seem to be very thin. And there was no hot water after 11am, luckily it's Singapore and you can survive a cold shower. A fridge and safe deposit box would be nice in the room, but frankly I would not know where this could be accommodated as the room is very small. The area, Geylang, which I was told by a taxi driver, is the red light district - reminds me very much of the Chinatown area in the 80's. Very dirty, noisy and very busy until the early hours of the morning. (Interesting for some - unpleasant for others - you decide) Upside--- is was the cheapest two nights I have ever spend in Singapore regarding accommodation, everything more or less worked and a taxi ride into the city is only ten dollar one way. I will be staying in a different area again on my next stop over.

Spotlessly clean, excellent budget hotel.
For SGD80, I thought this budget hotel was excellent. Cleanliness is of utmost importance to me and so I was thoroughly pleased. I did not know what to expect as I've never stayed in a budget hotel in Spore before but upon driving up to the hotel, parking was a breeze, very tidy reception, spotless floors, elevators and hallway leading to the rooms were very clean. Room and bathroom spotless as well. The room was spacipus enough for luggage, it had one queen size bed, a closet, vanity desk, bedside table and still had room to talk around comfortably. Bathroom couldbe a bit snug for larger size people but for me it was sufiicient in everyway. There was a sink, toilet bowl n bathtub. Basic ammenities provided like toothbrush, shower cap, electric kettle, bottled water, hairdryer, tissue. Really you could not ask for more from a budget accomodation. Small TV and dvd player provided. Room had a window looking out to the front. I stayed for one night but I would not hesitate staying for 2-3 nights even. I think some reviews about budget hotels are quite unfair. People pay so little but expect 5 star acvomodation and service. If yr expectations are realistic, you will not be disappointed. I expwcted much less and I got more than what I expected. The clealiness really surpassed any other cheap hotel I have been too. In fact some of the bigger hotels aren't this clean either. The hotel gave me the impression that it takes hygiene very seriously and lets face it - in a place where thousands come and go from all over the world, all walks of life, isnt cleanliness the main criteria of any hotel? This hotel gets a big thumbs up from me.

For the price, Hotel81-Princess was very well presented. 10 minutes walk to a train station, plenty of local cuisine nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but well presented, and included a kettle and pre-mixed tea and coffee sachets, but no fridge. The bathroom had a western style toilet and shower-bath, but we had no hot water for our whole second day which cost some marks on 'quality of room'. All up a decent place to stay for a single or couple passing through.

The place is in the red light zone! This must be known before booking, also its so dirty! And people use it only as a 2 hours hotel.
