If you are looking for a clean and budget type of hotel, then you can go to Fragrance hotel Rose. But don't expect too much. Facilities you need are available so no need to worry about that...
But... the room is really so small you'll feel like you'll stop breathing any time.....specially the toilet! you can basically do everything, take a shower and brush your teeth, while sitting comfortably on the throne :P..that's how small it is...So if you're claustrophobic, please don't try this hotel...
But if you're just looking for like a place to stay just for a night or two and is budget conscious, then this hotel might already be sufficient..:)
Very convenient location... take the 124 bus...
Very convenient location... take the 124 bus directly to Orchard Rd in just 15 minutes! Also, there are plenty of handy breakfast locations on Balestier Road such as the Malay/Thai store which sells the most delicious roti prata!
Rooms are tiny, though, but it's a great price for budget travellers who know their way around the public transport system fairly well. Towels, toothpaste, and handwash soap are provided, but be sure to bring shampoo and whatever else you need. Hairdryer provided.

reception efficient. htl small. doors w keycard. i had room without window. checked in 00.30 and had to get up at 7.30 so for me not too important. room was a bit smelly but clean. bathroom as big as a closet but clean. small but everything there, tv and even hairdryer and coffeemaker. good for people who only need a cheap place to sleep for 1 nite.

Room size is too small. Room cleaning, bathroom cleaning were excellent. Dailly services were good.
Lady I met at the reception is not at all suitable for such a job. It seems like that she does not understand what a person from outside expects from recption. She was not polite and it appeared as if she is not ready do even a small help. She even did not bother to explain any thing in a comprehensive manner. (Anyway the men I met later were good)

Front desk clerk of Fragrance hotel very indifferent and non-responsive. Single room is very,very tiny but clean and adequate for overnight stay. Despite size, room has everything you need: a/c, hot shower, electric pot for heating up water and flat screen tv on the wall! Reminds me of the tiny airport single rooms at Tokyo airport. If you are a "large" person, this may not be the room to check into. Area seems to border Little India. Bus access convenient to Orchard Road, between two subway stops --- Novena and Newton.
