The Scarlet Hotel experience was excellent. We stayed in a deluxe room. Decor very stylish throughout. As soon as we arrived a staff member showed us to our room for an in-room checkin, where we were also given complimentary drinks. Robes and slippers were a lovely touch. Dazzlingly clean. There was no window but a high skylight gave some natural light. Room nice and quiet. Appreciated the wide range of bathroom products supplied. Not a lot of room on the sink for a makeup bag and the light not really bright enough for applying makeup. Good minibar and other facilities including broadband and DVD player. Would have liked to see bacon (not ham) and eggs on the hot breakfast buffet but coffee was excellent. Other options included cereal, fruit, yoghurt, cheese and pastries. Breakfast off the menu was also available. Service very good. We will certainly stay here again.

We were very impressed by the care & attention given to us by the staff who always had a ready smile and a cheery word.
The hotel has so many extra special touches that make it a very different hotel and made our stay very enjoyable. The food was excellent we especially enjoyed eating in the delightful Breeze restaurant.
Its a shame it hasn't got a swimming pool but the jacuzzi was most welcome.

I was a little nervous about staying at the Scarlet after the taxi driver referred to it as the Vampire Hotel. But I found it delightful with a great balance between practicality and style. Unlike some other Chinatown hotels, I found the executive room (which is admittedly on the small side) crammed with goodies to make your stay comfortable. The roomy bathroom (or shower room) was very comfortable. The finish in the rooms was also very good. Finally, I enjoyed eating at Desire Restaurant with its funky colours and great food and wine. Service was good at every turn.
Highly recommended for singles and couples on business or vacation, regardless of age.

The location was perfect for us. Close to China Town, plenty of local eating places, shopping and around a 400metre walk to the China Town MRT station.
The service is faultless, the staff were friendly and helpful.The room was a bit small but when in Singapore who spends much time in hotel rooms.

The Scarlet Hotel was the perfect base...
The Scarlet Hotel was the perfect base for the start of our South East Asian holiday and an excellent base to discover Singapore. The service was outstanding and although the facilities went only as far as bar and restaurant, this was all we required in a two night stay. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clinically clean, as was the Hotel's rest room - a real pleasure! Rooms had everything required and the staff were both efficient and extremely friendly. Breakfast was excellent. With a day to fill at the end of the holiday, we returned to the Scarlet for a few hours and received a very warm welcome. I cannot fault this hotel at all, but would alert prospective guests that some rooms only have a skylight window - but I only noticed on the second night, it really isn't a problem.

We were given a tiny room without windows. Other than that, the hotel is nice and the terrace with bar on top of the building is clearly a highlight. Reception is quite fancy, as was the bathroom, but the room size was simply not acceptable in that price category.

This hotel is definitely the place to stay if you are looking for more atmosphere than you'd get at one of the more mainstream hotel chains. The place has limitless character, unadulterated charm and the decor is oh so theatrical. I loved the place and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone with a sense of fun and a love of adventure. I have never experienced such friendliness and efficiency from hotel staff. They are truly wonderful, totally professional, and every request for information and assistance was dealt with quickly and with seemingly effortless grace. Go and stay there.
