I stayed at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport...
I stayed at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport for 1 night on 29-30 Aug. There was low occupancy at this time.
The room was cosy & classy, the bathroom big and comfortable. Quality bathrobes and slippers were provided.
Due to the layout of the hotel, although my room was located just behind the lift, I had to walk very far to it, i.e. had to turn 3 corners.
There were pros and cons to the plants in the swimming pool - picturesque, but there were many centipedes, which is dangerous as they are poisonous.
I returned to my room 10 mins before checkout. 1 of the access cards could not work at the lift, then both access cards could not work at the door of my room.
The box housing the in-house phone located at the lift could not be opened, and a cleaning staff nearby did not know how to open it either.
I had to call hotel staff on my mobile and waited about 10 mins before a bellboy appeared with a replacement card.
I am inclined to think that the cards failed at the room door because by the time I reached it (after spending time trying access card at the lift, and walking to my room)it was already 12noon - checkout time.
This is very inhospitable. When guests have not checked out, the cards should not prevent us from taking our luggage to proceed to checkout.
Also, what is the point of having an in-house phone if it cannot be used? And even cleaning staff need to be trained how to handle the hotel equipment.
1 last point - function rooms located near the lobby were not soundproof. Everything the DJ said - plus the music - could be heard from the lobby.
