Not So Value-For-Money
The hotel facade and surroundings were not exactly as what you seen in the website. The hotel is located away from main road and no public transportation was available. It was also quite far from nearest MRT station. The best bet to move around is via cab or driving.
Our rooms were not ready when we check in at 2pm. We were told to hang about either at the fun dog kennel (located across the road) or the games stable (located next door), and come back later after half hour. At least the manager-in-charge checked us in later into a grandeur room i.e. with window and garden view as "compensation" without extra cost.
In the wee hours of the morning, dogs barking and humming can easily be heard from our room which was quite irritating. And the breakfast was a total disappointment as the food was cold, hard (as if like re-cooked over many times), and not much choices available. Tables were not clean properly and flies were hovering about. We did lodge a formal complaint to the manager-in-charge on the level of cleanliness and he promised to look into the matter urgently.

Good value for money
Nice, cozy hotel with great service. The room we had was on the dark side though and it was a bit noisy. Nevertheless, we'd stay here again.
Room poor, shower didnt work, fridge needed de-frosting, door lock got stuck and we had a lizard for company.
It's a good family place
Traveling with a 1-1/2 year old and wife this place was a nice choice for us compared to a downtown city experience. We asked and were given a room away from the dog kennel. It was quiet but in no way luxerious. The decent sized, although not large room was clean. On the negative side it had a few chips in the wall paint and noisy bathroom drain. On the positve side it was away from the noise of the city with birds chirping and open grass areas for the baby to run. Breakfast was OK. The in-room coffee/tea kettle and refrigerator was nice. The bunny feeding place and pony rides next door were fun for the baby. One had to call taxis to go everywhere except for 2 substantial outdoor restaurant areas 7 and 10 minute walks away. There is no bus or MRT service that goes anywhere important. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you want nightlife and fine dining at your doorstep stay elsewhere. If you want a country feeling and lower than city prices stay here.

Very friendly staff, location is great for those who love nature, a rare gem in Singapore.

Ideal location, away from the city's hustle-bustle, set in sylvan greens near Turf City in Singapore. Small, non-intrusive, colonial style setting where peace and quiet prevail. The team at Rider's Lodge is friendly and will go all out to accommodate your needs. An adjoining dog's kennel can be a small nuisance for late sleepers with barkin of 50+ dogs early AM. Vegetarian food for breakfast needs to be looked at. Not much of an option. Overall, a wonderful place to relax, unwind and have a good time.
