Santa Grand Hotel Stay
Overall the staff and room were fantastic. The staff were very helpful and the roof top pool was excellent without being too big. The hotel is located along the food strip and the food stalls we visited were fantastic. Taxi costs from the hotel to attractions were minimal and all the taxi drivers we had were brilliant. The only two things that could be improved by the hotel would be to put up shower screens to prevent the water from getting on the floor and to ensure there is a childrens TV channel as there was no channel for young children.

DURING EXPO EXHIBITION
My stay at the Santa Grand 171 East Coast, was very convenient as it was planned visit to the Singapore Expo. The traveling was convenient, to the expo and also to the Airport. There were two main shopping malls nearby to the Hotel(I12 & Marina Parkway) There were many restaurants and eating places in the close proximity of the Hotel. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room I opted to stay was quite small, but it served the purpose based on my requirements, and all facilities for a business traveler was available.
Misleading Room Description
The hotel was listed as a New 5 floor hotel in East Coast. The room pictures are of the new wing and sold that way. When you get there the hotel has no rooms left in the whole new wing and say they are upgrading you but stick you in the old rooms on the main road side. Very noisy, no curtains so lights through the window all night and even the door handle was falling off which did not seem great for security. When told about this the staff offered to move me to the room next door which was exactly the same. T make matters worse the shower drain was clogged with hair from the previous guests. The restaurant advertised was not open and there was no facilities for getting food or drink. The free internet did not work properly and in the morning was switched off. For a new hotel it was a disaster......Asian Fawlty Towers.....and I would not recommend staying there for any reason.
