Good service
I had the best experience of my life especially the service I received at the reception (check-in) desk. The lady was the best. The room was neat and fresh. Breakfast was devine and the personnel in general was friendly.
I would surely come back and also ensure that my employees and business associates stay there when they are either on holiday or on business.

Belaire Suites
I have stayed at the Belaire suites several times and the service (particularly management) seems to be improving all the time. The rooms could do with a facelift (the sink surrounds in the bathroom are looking grubby) and the showe could do with a facelift) and the bed linen is looking 'tired'. There is a mini kitchenette in the room (kettle, microwavve, small fridge) but for some reason no plates or cutlery (this was true on my last visit there in May). The hot food at the buffet breakfasts is always cold - I wish they would serve breakfast in the coffee shop as they did in the past. There is nothing worse than cold scrambled eggs! But the Belaire is good value for money, very cental and now their lifsts are working, easier to get to the upper floors.
Not the same as before
The rooms were not as clean as before. Counters dusty, Coffee creamer was off. I complained on deaf ears. Banging of doors and 3 in the morning. No face cloth in the bathroom as previously.
The breakfast in the Jiran coffee shop is terrible as always has been. The food burners to keep the baine maries warm were not alight and therefore the breakfast was cold. The toasters only worked on one side. The plates were chipped. No side plates, so you were expected to pile you plates with your breakfast, toast, jam, and butter. This is not a fast food service on the side of a highway. Jiran cafe....keep your name up there.

State of room
The room was deisgned for a disabled person. The room door could do with a varnish and the toilet seat was partially broken. There was no crockery or cutlery and the tea/coffee station was not fully replenished each day. The shower gel ran out after 2 days and was not replaced neither was soap so one small bar had to last for 5 days!
Overall good
The shower in the room number 804 was flowing water very slow.
The bathroom does not have electric point for shaving.
Splendid
We always enjoy our stay at the Belaire. The accomodation is excellent and the facilities are more than you would expect. However, Jiran Cafe could work on their food. In terms of freshness that is. The cappuccino though is beyound wonderful

It was a very nice experience... I must say I was worried given the fact that I booked without having seen the establishment nor heard from my contacts about it. I hope the fixing of the lift will be done speedily as it is not nice being woken by a drill.
The dining area is small... Please have the cleaning staff clean under the beds...dust has settled. Also, let the kitchen staff clean under the machine(s) in the kitchen.... I spotted that during the confusion at breakfast as I was sat near the kitchen.
Overall - the hotel has a wonderful feel/atmosphere!

The hotel is very good value for...
The hotel is very good value for the price you pay. I do not know if this is because the hotel is under renovations (no air-con presently - winter now, so no problem with that-, one of he lifts not in use, etc). If, when they finish the rates keep the same, is very good value.
The restaurant in the ground floor is very good (and 10% discount to residents!) and the breakfast (included in the room price) quite good.
