My wife and I spent the Lunar New Year 2010 in Busan,
staying at Elysee Hotel. The accommodation was clean
and comfortable. The rooms have radiant heat in the
floor which made for an extremely comfortable environment.
Our bathroom had a multi-function shower (which drained
into the main bathroom drain- not a separate shower drain
(?)), jacuzzi, and steam sauna (in the shower). Rooms have
a plethora of electronic amenities: computer, CD / DVD, audio,
flat screen TV and video tape- for which there is a small
library on each floor.
Most notable was the proprietor, Mr. Sung Ho. He was helpful,
accessible, and friendly- a wealth of information for us (!).
Despite the language barrier inherent for non-Koreans (I am
Western and my wife, Chinese), Mr Sung was able to advise,
translate and direct us to notable sights. He made our trip
memorable!
The hotel is located in, what we now consider, the epicenter of
Busan- within a 10 minute walk to international shopping, an
incredible fish market, Lotte, and a diverse assortment of cafes
and local restaurants. An escalator is convenient for returning
(uphill) from the 'shopping street'.
