Not hip at all
Jelly Hotel did not live up to its slogan of a hip hotel. There was practically no service to speak of, just one or two staff behind a desk to help you check in. Staff seemed able to read English but did not speak it so it was very difficult to communicate with her. There is no food and beverage outlet at all in the hotel. The reception area and the upstairs corridor were very very dim as walls were painted black with a few tiny bulbs for light. My room ("Nude") was comfortable and clean enough but furniture and fittings were a bit worn; an electric socket was left dangling on the wall; the beige half-circular sofa had a few big stains on the seat. Instructions to operate the TV were in Korean and English but not useful as they were not correctly written. The bathroom had no hooks or rail to hang towels or clothes.
The only positive thing was its location, being near many small restaurants and convenience shops, and about 5 minutes from the Gangnam metro station. But I definitely won't be going back to Jelly hotel again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
