The rural hotel maintains the splendour of the big country estates from long ago by being situated in the heart of a large property of 500,000 m2. It preserves all the colonial architecture of a period in which time passed by at a shower pace. The country estate that 'La Hacienda' erected is the oldest of all the Canary Islands, dating from 1572.
The 'Mayorazgo de Arucas' was established on the same date and these were the first owners until late S.XVIII. At that time, passing into the hands of the 'Marquesado de Arucas', the present owners. In 1997, 'La Marquesa de Arucas' decided to reconvert it to a hotel, maintaining both its architecture and original setting, amongst banana plantations.
