The Parador hotel is a tastefully decorated modern white building found in this pretty mountain village, with white houses of slate roofs, which sometimes are adorned with the family crest. A 15th century castle and a lovely town church are also situated there. The village is an ideal base for excursions into the Sanabria Valley and to the Sanabria Lake with its facilities for water sports. In the surroundings there are a few very interesting romanic churches, such as 'San Martin de Castaneda'.
